The Greater Atlanta Naturist Group (GANG) was formed on September 14, 1984 when a group of nine men gathered for the first "party". By December 1985, the roster of members totaled fifty-eight.

The cost for a single membership in 1985 was ten dollars.

In the beginning, there were a few volunteers who took charge and made things happen. Announcements were issued only to advise of a particular event, while today a monthly newsletter helps keep the membership in touch with activities.

The governing structure of GANG changed dramatically in May of 1990 with the filing of Articles of Incorporation with the State of Georgia. GANG moved from a few volunteers organizing and administering the functions of the group to an eight member elected Board of Directors. The General Membership also adopted bylaws under which the directors assumed their authority.

Throughout the years there have been a wide variety of events from pitch-in-dinners, camping, canoeing trips, pool parties, disco parties, holiday parties and theater nights. The activities available to the members have been as diverse as the membership itself.

The very nature of the organization makes it somewhat difficult to find suitable sites for functions. However, this club has been blessed with members who have opened their homes, pools, properties and businesses for the benefit of the entire membership.
GANG also recognizes its responsibility to the community as a whole and has dontated goods and time to organizations such as:

 

GANG is a recognized leader among Gay Naturist organizations around the world. For four years, members of GANG produced what was to become the Gay Naturists International (GNI) Annual Gathering. It has also proved to be a valuable ally in the development of International Men Enjoying Naturism, another international Naturist organization. Our members continue to be involved in both the Gay Naturist movement as well as the Naturist movement in general by serving on national committees and boards.
